The company gave us a fun day!
Most times, I'm really glad I work there. The rest of the time, I'm just plain tired.
The company gave the employees a chance to go to the waterpark. They were letting the employees bring family members or a guest. I asked my x-boss if she thought they would let me bring the young lady and the grandkids, all, or would I have to pay for two of them. The x-boss said, "We wanted to bring the kids and grandkids last year, and they told us we'd have to pay for some of them. You'll most likely have to pay for two of your guests. Well, that was okay. I told the young lady that I would put all three down as my guests when I turned in the application. If they didn't pay for the kids, I would.
When we arrived, the guy looked up my name and said,"three guests, here are four meal tickets." AWESOME! After the fun day, as we were driving home, we calculated that the company had spent about $120. on us, alone. Near the end of the day, the company handed out ice cream and gave my guests, each, the yearly summer T-shirt with the company logo. I had already gotten mine, earlier in the week. The older kid kept saying, "this is the best time I've ever had!"
Not having any tattoos, myself, I like taking pictures of the ones I see. My gosh! There were tattoos all over the place. While I was waiting in line, I wished I had my camera. I could have snapped a BUNCH of pictures.
Every time we got to the wave pool, the waves weren't waving. The young lady and I decided to lay in the shallow water while the kids played nearby. The waves started. I had forgotten how much fun they could be.
My favorite. The slow pace of the "river" and the hot sun beating down, makes for a nice ride. We gently float along with the flow. If any tubes hit against each other, they don't hurt the riders. The water is about three feet deep, so few are apt to drown. As I was floating along, eyes closed, I had a thought for a story. Someone could die in one of those tubes and as long as it was quietly, no one would realize until the place closed up for the night. The nice thing about that ride is that you don't have to get out when you get to the beginning. You can continue floating to your heart's content.
The older kid and I went up on this slide. The first time, we went in a two person tube. Then, we exchanged the double tube for two singles. Up the steps we went for a second time. It was a lot of fun. The young lady and the younger kid went up with a double tube. She took the ride, but he decided to not, and walked down.
At the end of the day, a herd of stampeding elephants drove us from the park. It was time. We had a great time, but the sunburn was starting to make itself known.
