Saturday ride.

This post is a continuation from a post at the other blog. Happy chicken.

Sis said she was going to ride Sammie, a friend would ride Millie, and I had my choice between Hermie and Jeremiah. I picked Hermie. I hadn't ridden her in some time. She's known as "The Babysitter". I didn't realize she was the muddiest of the bunch. She always is. I've brushed the mud off her beautiful coat.

Sammie reminds me of the horse on the front of the book, "Tall and Proud", by Vian Smith.

Millie and two other sweet little critters.

Horses are very curious. They're just as bad as humans, cats, dogs, and birds!

Off we go.

The first horses we encounter on our ride.

Standing side by side.

Two horses and a mule watch as we ride by.

Sheep hanging out under trees.

Sheepdog training school. The youngster followed as the bigger one chased along inside the fence.

Dogs came out to bark at us.

This picture didn't come out well. The dog stayed back, but had fun barking.

More horses.

Time to turn around and head back, now. We saw other animals, and people, too, on our ride, but I didn't get pictures of all.

When we got back, the boys were happy to see us.

Hermie had to cool off. What better way than a roll in the dirt?

Millie gets sweaty when she doesn't get to run like she wants. She was held back. After her brushdown, she was still quite damp.

Sammie rolled to cool down, unfortunately, she got her hoof caught in the fence next to her. Once she realized her foot was caught, she stopped and just lay there. Sis and friend got her loose. Sammie was pretty happy to get back up on all fours.
