Vacation last week.

From Alabama to Cozumel, to Calica, to Playa del Carmen, then back to Alabama.Cozumel skyline, from the ship.

Shopping in Cozumel. There were two port of calls. The first was Cozumel. The shopkeepers kept urging us to come into their shops. "See my store", "jewelry, gold, diamonds, tanzanite", "I give you good deal".

Cozumel traffic.

We were on the upper level.

One of the shops caught my eye.

We all thought this was amusing.

Wednesday evening, we headed for Calica.

Once we landed, Thursday morning, we caught a cab to Playa del Carmen.
We went to the beach. It was partially overcast, but we braved the water, anyway. The waves were terrific.

At one point, I was playing in the waves and I fell to the sand. Before I could get up, another wave came and kept me down. I had so much sand in my suit, it's amazing there was any beach left!

Masks in the shopping area.

More shopping area.

Self portrait.

Nice pic's, Ms. OWL. Hope you had fun. Did you have any good Mexican food in Mexico? Were you there for the Day of the Dead? Bring home any gatos Mexicanos?
.

Cosa Nostradamus - Thank you. We had fun, but I guess I haven't been on vacation for so long, I worried about the home front. Since food was included in our cruise, we didn't eat at any of the area restaurants. I don't think we were there that day. No, I think 5 are plenty:)

Yeah, but Mexican kitties speak SPANISH!

Bring yers along next time, worry-wart. Hey, we have cruises here ya know! They go to Alaska, Mexico (West Coast), and Nowhere, or just around the islands, stopping at the big ones. They need the business, too. Might be some bargains. When's your next world tour, jet-setter?

Cosa Nostradamus - Yes, I guess Mexican cats do speak Spanish. My cats wouldn't be able to understand them. Some of the people we went with were talking about visiting Hawaii, but then they were talking another cruise in 2009/2010. That sounds cool, to go island hopping, there. It would be a lot of fun. I'm not planning any more vacations, just yet. I still haven't recovered from the last one:)
