Season to be jolly

Happy Holidays, one and all... but especially to Trailertrash. I hope her kitties are getting used to each other. I know she misses Saddie, but hopefully the pain has diminished. I think I read that Sargent Mango came to live with them last December. She should call Christmas his birthday:)

So much stuff under the Christmas tree. When the family would go out shopping and leave the house locked up, but unguarded, I worried that someone might break in, in hopes of grabbing the Christmas presents under the tree. They wouldn't get the bikes, because those were in the garage, hidden and locked up. We got up this morning early and pulled the bikes in. The kids are going to love them.

It wasn't donuts

It was pizza. We had a pizza party, today, at work, and stuffed our faces (or should that be pie-holes?:)! We've been having too much holiday eating! At the beginning of the year, several of us are going to try and not gain any more weight. We plan to bring a scale to work and weigh in once a week. If anyone gains, they will have to put $1. in the kitty. At the end of three months, whoever has lost the most, will get the money in the kitty. Hopefully, there will not be any money in the kitty.

Wishing

The new girl agreed to work Sunday afternoon for another person. She asked if I could come and help. I said I thought so. I called her and found out that she's doing just fine, as long as she can call me with problems. Good. I didn't feel like going in, really. I wish I was off this coming week. I would try and visit friends. Oh, well. I have to work both jobs, my usual schedule. The weekend is mine, too. I think someone else was scheduled, but she asked me to take it since I only have cats to worry about shopping for.

just for me:)

I thought this would be a great picture to link to as though the cat was laughing. What great teeth!

Thank goodness for the weekend

Wednesday night, the new cat bit hell out of my hands. My own fault, of course. This is the cat that A gave me. Not Lady Fortuna. Lady Fortuna is a wonderful cat. She wasn't when I decided to take in this cat. A has 17 cats, some dogs, etc... She is a foster home, but has decided she needs to make some changes. The kittens hadn't actually been fostered so she was able to give them away. Problem is, 1 1/2 years old is no longer a kitten. The cat is scared stiff of this place. She doesn't know me or the cats. I pulled her out from under the bed and she bit me several times. She got loose. That evening, I was ready for bed when I heard her crying. She was under the freezer. The motor had kicked on and she had peed underneath it in fear. I dragged her out, holding on so I could clean her. She bit me many times. My index finger is swollen and bruised. I have several scratch and bite marks on both hands. They hurt. I already had tetanus shot for some other reason in the past (recent). HA! So, I worked last night and the typing isn't the greatest as not total usage of fingers. Well, the boss took off tonite and I agreed to work until close for her. What a dummy I am! I was only an half hour longer, but the other two girls who stayed (thank goodness they did!) were both late leaving out. One was about 1 1/2 hour and the other 1/2 to 45 minutes over the time they were supposed to leave. Then I had to go to Walmart for essentials. Cat food, toilet paper. Picked up some other stuff needed. Planned on doing some other things when I got home, but am tired. New cat (bitey cat) keeps crying. Her name was Roxie (she's tortoise-shell) but I'm changing it to Rocky... cause that's the state of our current relationship!

I meant it, yesterday, when I said I was in a grouchy mood. I woke up late this morning, but had enough time to take shower and get to work. I got there and the new girl was in tears. Tears of frustration, mind you. I said, "Hello, I'm here." and she said, "I'm putting in my two week notice!" as she came around to my side of the partition and was wiping the tears away. She was overwhelmed. We went through the phone calls she needed to call back and got them straightened out. We also went through the paperwork and got it straight, in her mind, on what needed to be done. I took the daily entry stuff and told her not to worry about it, I would do it. She said the scanner wouldn't work for her, yesterday.

I watched her put the batch in today, and it worked fine. She had accidentally put them in upside down, yesterday, causing the barcodes to not be read...or any of the stuff that needed to scan. It sounded like she had a horrible afternoon, yesterday, and I could see why that could happen. I had done it myself, in the past, but because I have been there so long, I spotted the correction pretty quickly. Anyway, we got that taken care of.

She handled the paperwork, asking questions as she came across them. We finished up everything and I think she felt a lot better. I told her that if she felt she needed help on her next weekend, she just needed to say. There is so much stuff that needs to be understood, that it does take more than just Saturday (having the boss there for questions) to feel comfortable working a weekend.

After work, I ran down to Papa John's Pizza. One large pizza(cheese, pepperoni, or sausage) for $5.99. I bought two cheese. I can have pizza for lunch for a couple days. I then went to a cool store that sells incense. I like several types they carry. The store also sells pipes. Very pretty, interesting, & cool pipes. I was surprised at all the people interested in pipes, today. I wonder if they were buying Christmas gifts or for their own use? I also wonder what those pipes were for? Do those people make a habit of smoking pot, or worse? Pot smokers don't bother me because they are usually harmless and calm, whereas meth or crack smokers scare the bajeezus out of me! Personally, I don't know any.. nor do I want to.

A Florida couple, both well into their 80s, goes to a sex therapist's office. The doctor asks, "What can I do for you?" The man says, "Will you watch us have sexual intercourse?" The doctor raises both eyebrows, but he is so amazed that such an elderly couple is asking for sexual advice that he agrees.
When the couple finishes, the doctor says, "There's absolutely nothing wrong with the way you have intercourse." He thanks them for coming, wishes them good luck, charges them $50, and says goodbye.
The next week, however, the couple returns and asks the sex therapist to watch again. The sex therapist is a bit puzzled, but agrees. This happens several weeks in a row. The couple makes an appointment, has intercourse with no problems, pays the doctor, then leaves.
Finally, after 5 or 6 weeks of this routine, the doctor says, "I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Just what are you trying to find out?"
The old man says, "We're not trying to find out anything. She's married and we can't go to her house. I'm married and we can't go to my house. The Holiday Inn charges $98. The Hilton charges $139. We do it here for $50, and I get $43 back from Medicare."

Saturday

What a crappy day. I had to change my computer background because I found myself close to tears each time I looked at the picture of Saddie, I had up.

I found out (by Shakespeare's Sister) that Richard Pryor died, today. I always enjoyed his stuff.

I have the heat turned down to 65 but find myself freezing. Brrr. I decided to take a nap. It was a nice 3 hour toasty nap. I felt better, but cramps & grouchy attitude are still with me. The second job called and asked me to go in tomorrow at noon for a couple hours (New girl weekend training and the boss has something else she has to do).

Friday, we ordered Papa John's pizza for lunch. N & I like the chicken mushroom. Oh, that pizza was terrific. I mentioned that I thought I would order one this weekend and she advised me that they are having a "Customer Appreciation" special, tomorrow, with certain one top specials. I have to remember to get there. They may not be the chicken mushroom, but still delicious.
